SEMA Town Hall Meetings: Kansas City, Missouri

The SEMA Town Hall Meeting in Kansas City, Missouri was a huge success with 115 members and non-members in attendance. Members had the opportunity to discuss hot topics with our panel while networking with industry leaders. Main topics covered during the panel discussion:

  • What are SEMA Networks?
  • Finding Talented People in the Industry

This was the first time we connected the SEMA Annual Meeting with our Town Hall series. During the meeting SEMA Board Chairman Nate Shelton and the other panelists gave great examples of involvement by joining SEMA networks. Joining a free SEMA network: YEN (Young Executive Network), SBN (SEMA Businesswomen Network) and ETTN (Emerging Trends and Technology Network) is a great outlet for young professionals to get more involved. The panel discussed the importance of finding talent that has a passion for the industry and then taking the time to teach them about the company's products and services. During the SEMA Show, SEMA brings in students to compete in the Hot Rodders of Tomorrow program, where the youth is learns to put together an engine and work together to achieve the same goal. Kyle Fickler of Weld Racing said, "Passion first, technical aptitude second."

We would like to extend a special thanks to the great folks at Weld Racing LLC for hosting the event. Other big thanks to our panelists: SEMA Board Chairman, Nate Shelton (B&M Racing and Performance), SEMA Board Member, Kyle Fickler (Weld Racing LLC), and Steve Matusek (Aeromotive Inc.) for their assistance with this first-ever Annual Membership & Town Hall meeting in Kansas City, Missouri.
