Life is full of choices for kids. You can help them make the right ones by sharing your appreciation for cool old cars.

There have been countless studies done to prove it, but virtually everyone knows that spending quality time with a kid is the greatest gift you can give them. And sharing your appreciation for collector cars is a great way to nurture their interest in a hobby that you can enjoy together for many years to come.

About the Program

Take a Kid to a Car Show is an awareness program started by the Automotive Restoration Market Organization (ARMO), a council of SEMA. The program delivers a simple yet effective message to parents and car show organizers about getting youth involved in the collector car hobby; Take a Kid to a Car Show. Whether you produce a high profile extravaganza, a weekly cruise at the local shopping center or an annual charity show n shine, one thing is common; you have a passion for preserving and experiencing our automotive heritage. If we want to ensure that our passion is carried on to future generations we must involve our youth. Utilizing the Take a Kid to a Car Show logo and imagery in your event signals young people that they are welcome to share in the excitement. It also tells parents and local officials that this is a family oriented hobby.

As you restore the past, remember to ensure the future; Take a Kid to a Car Show.

ARMO has made various promotional items available to car show promoters and participants such as a dedicated logo and a coloring book to provide as an activity for the kids.

Take a Kid to a Car Show Logo

The Take a Kid to a Car Show logo can be used on all your marketing and promotional material, as well as posted on your website, Facebook page, etc. After all, that’s the idea, to spread the word about involving youth in our hobby. When using the logo, it must be used in its standard form as downloaded. Please refrain from modifying or adding any graphic elements to the logo.

Coloring Book

The coloring book may also be a useful promotion or goodie bag addition to your event, depending of course on your budget. They may be printed as a book, or you could use them individually if you have a “Kid’s Area” or “Kids Table” at your event.

I believe that it is extremely important to “Take a Kid to a Car Show”. The show provide hours of entertainment for the kids but it will also expose them to the collector car hobby. After all, they are the next generation of caretakers for the hobby.  To attract the kids to the show, last year we had our first “Hot Wheel” drag competition for the kids.  It was fun for all and it will be back this year. Thank you AMRO for your contribution to make the event successful.

The future of old cars depends on our kids. We need to get them interested in old cars to keep the hobby going. My husband's first car was a Barracuda 40 years ago. When our son was 10 years old we took him to a car show. When he was 15, he bought a 1970 Duster for $ 200. He restored it with his family's help and now at age 22, takes it to car shows. I always try to get kids to our shows. The ARMO Take a Kid to a Car Show is a great program that is helping me with my shows.
