ProMedia Events and Publishing has announced veteran journalist, book writer and photographer Steve Turner is joining the staff as editor of Fastest Street Car, in addition to the promotion of Steve Baur to digital content editor. Hypertherm received an award for excellence in work-based learning in the Overall Champion category. New Hampshire Governor John Sununu presented Hypertherm, and specifically Barbara Couch, president of the Hypertherm Owners’ Philanthropic Endeavors (HOPE) Foundation, the award during a ceremony in Concord, New Hampshire. Judges recognized Couch for her leadership in promoting work-based learning across New Hampshire, encouraging Hypertherm associates to volunteer, participating on numerous boards and sponsoring events through the HOPE Foundation. Custom Automotive Network (CAN), formerly known as the Performance Warehouse Association, named Rick Kovalick and Trent Lowe the 2018 Pioneer Award recipients. Kovalick, National Performance Warehouse’s CRO and vice president, has served on various panels, committees and the board of directors for CAN and SEMA. Lowe is the former president of Time Automotive Distributors, located in Salt Lake City, Utah, and Boise, Idaho. Keystone recently showcased its new warehouse in Eastvale, California. Now the organization’s second-largest facility, it will be the key hub for the southwestern region. At 450,000 sq. ft., it currently holds $44 million in inventory, with a capacity of up to $70 million. Designed with efficiency in mind, it has a 40-ft. clear ceiling, 80 bay doors, trailer locks, and a fleet of fast-charging electric forklifts. Motovicity Distribution was the winner of the Custom Automotive Network’s (CAN) 2018 Reseller of the Year award, which was presented at the annual CAN Connect Conference. In addition, Motovicity announced that Theresa Evens joined the company as marketing manager. Directed Electronics announced the addition of Eben Sheldon and The Best Reps to its New England sales organization. Sheldon, Directed sales manager, will cover southern New England. Yokohama Tire Corp. opened its new tire research and development facility—the Yokohama Development Center America—in Cornelius, North Carolina. The high-tech, 25,000-sq.-ft. building in Mecklenburg County replaces the temporary R&D office that Yokohama has utilized in Concord, North Carolina, since 2016. Wiseco Performance Products hired industry veteran Kirk Tenney as the organization’s national and distribution sales manager. Tenney will be tasked with carrying out long-term sales objectives while focusing on customer service and promoting Wiseco’s automotive product offerings. Covercraft Industries LLC entered into an agreement with Jim Crowley and “Hook and Hunt TV” to become a major sponsor of the online outdoor show. Crowley, host of the “Hook and Hunt TV” video series and, focuses his shows on teaching hunting and fishing fundamentals and uses Covercraft products to protect the vehicles he features in his shows and seminars. JMPR, a division of imre, announced that it was named agency of record for Red Line Synthetic Oil. JMPR will support Red Line Synthetic Oil by bringing awareness to the brand and assisting the company with upcoming new-product launches and sponsorship announcements. In celebration of the 50th anniversary of Hot Wheels, the U.S. Postal Service (USPS) issued 20 Forever stamps showcasing some of the most outrageous car designs from Hot Wheels. The USPS held an issue ceremony at the Goodguys 26th Summit Racing Lone Star Nationals at the Texas Motor Speedway in September. Johnson Barrick was named Aeromotive’s new sales manager and will report directly to Aeromotive Vice President Jeff Stacy. Barrick most recently served as dual sales manager for Concord Hospitality in San Antonio, Texas, working directly with the director of sales to develop and implement sales forecasts and proposals for both government and corporate markets.
