Opportunities Rise for Young Enthusiasts

The SEMA Young Guns regional program was created in 2017 to recognize young talent and foster the future growth of the automotive aftermarket industry. Car builders age 27 or younger throughout the country now have an opportunity to showcase their vehicles at the SEMA Show and receive acknowledgement from within the automotive industry. Several publications have recognized the new talent and highlighted the program’s significance.

Street Muscle

Street MusclePreston Folkestad, 22, was featured in Street Muscle after winning the Young Guns title at the Spring Lone Star Nationals with his ’73 Chevy C10. The victory gave the recent college graduate the opportunity to showcase his modifying skills and the parts he used at the exclusive SEMA Show.

Autobody News

Autobody NewsAutobody News did an article on 27-year-old Austin Haynes, documenting his experience showcasing his unique C10 at the 2017 SEMA Show. The native of Johnson City, Illinois, earned a spot in the SEMA Battle of the Builders competition by winning the Young Guns division at the Street Machine Nationals.

Chevy Hardcore

Chevy HardcoreChevy Hardcore informed its readers of SEMA and Bonnier’s continued partnership in 2018 to recognize Young Guns at the company’s regional events. The program was expanded into six Bonnier events this year across the 4-Wheel Jamboree, Street Machine Nationals and Jeep Invasion brands.
