Lumileds appointed Dave Illes as director of sales for the North American automotive aftermarket. He will be responsible for all sales channels and customers in the United States, Canada and Mexico. Illes has more than 25 years of automotive aftermarket executive sales and account management experience.

Mickey Thompson Tires & Wheels opened a facility in the company’s hometown of Stow, Ohio. The new state-of-the-art headquarters and warehouse covers 200,000 sq. ft. and serves as the eastern distribution center and corporate headquarters for Mickey Thompson Tires & Wheels, which includes both the Mickey Thompson and Dick Cepek brands. FCA US LLC opened a new 500,000-sq.-ft. MOPAR Parts Distribution Center (PDC) in Metro Detroit. The Romulus, Michigan, facility employs more than 100 workers and represents an investment of $10.4 million by FCA US. With an additional PDC opened earlier in 2017 in Winchester, Virginia, FCA US invested $22.6 million during the year to strengthen its parts distribution network in the United States, with 23 PDCs in North America. AirPro Diagnostics appointed Mark McCahill as its director of human resources. With more than 20 years of experience, McCahill has balanced experience between startups and established Fortune 500 companies and a background in staff and leadership development.

Dave Brzozowski was named motorsports manager for Wilwood Disc Brakes, overseeing all motorsports-related projects and opportunities. John Force Racing (JFR) announced that Sara Slaughter, most recently media relations manager for the NHRA, has joined the team as its new public relations director. Continental announced that two of its technologies earned CES 2018 Innovation Awards. The Ac2ated Sound speakerless audio system was named an honoree in the in-vehicle audio/video product category, and the Continental Air Supply (CAirS) was honored in the eco-design and sustainable technologies category. Product entries were judged by a panel of independent industrial designers, engineers and members of the trade media to honor outstanding design and engineering in cutting-edge consumer electronics products across 28 product categories. ToyMakerz partnered with Source Digital to launch a ToyMakerz companion app and website that connects fans to exclusive behind-the-scenes content as well as specs about builds and deals. With the sync feature, the app can be used simultaneously while watching the show to recognize specific scenes, or anytime when not in sync. Viewers can engage with brands and products they see on screen by pressing “sync” or by looking in the “Meet the ToyMakerz” section.

VP Racing Fuels Inc. announced the appointment of Tiffany Boone as business-development representative to support the company’s growing retail consumer products team. Recently, Boone spent several years as national sales manager for a plastic manufacturing company in the St. Louis area. The Austin Hatcher Foundation for Pediatric Cancer presented the Founder Club Member Award to longtime partner the International Motor Sports Association (IMSA). Amy Jo Osborn, co-founder of the Austin Hatcher Foundation, presented the award to IMSA President Scott Atherton in recognition of the sanctioning body’s assistance in generating nearly $2.5 million in contributions to the foundation from 2009–2017.
