The Top Must-See Features at the 2016 SEMA Show

Must-See Features
Ford Out Front is one of four individual ride-along experiences available to Show-goers at the 2016 SEMA Show and is one of the most popular points of interest each year.

The 2016 SEMA Show is rapidly taking shape, with an expanded menu of demonstrations, seminars, special events and other new opportunities for Show attendees to soak up the full potential of the automotive aftermarket. With each passing year, the association team responsible for the SEMA Show sharpens its commitment to making the Show the ultimate venue for the specialty parts industry to do business and keeping the Show in tune with the latest concepts and technologies. With that in mind, we offer the following sneak peek at some of the must-see features at the 2016 SEMA Show.

Interactive Experiences

In addition to the popular Ford Out Front and General Motors Proving Grounds—both returning this year—the 2016 SEMA Show will include two new areas for Show attendees to ride along in some of the most exciting vehicles on the market. Show attendees will see and feel the characteristics of high-performance rubber at The Continental Tire Extreme Experience, where they can ride along in a BMW with a professional racing driver. Also new this year is the Arctic Cat UTV Experience, which gives Showgoers the chance to join a professional driver on a specially built course made to demonstrate the capabilities of the newest entries in the Arctic Cat UTV lineup.

SEMA Central

  Must-See Features
SEMA Central is the heartbeat of the entire SEMA Show and will be home to new interactive experiences.

SEMA Central, the heartbeat of the SEMA Show, will be home base for live celebrity interviews and will house the SEMA Garage rapid-prototyping technology team, on hand to demonstrate the technologies available to members at the Garage. Visit the membership booth where specialists will be available to help attendees update their memberships and tap into association benefits.

The VR Experience

Must-See Features
A demonstration of marketing and promotional uses of virtual-reality technology in the SEMA Central area will include a virtual reality ride in a Trophy Truck.

The hottest trends in virtual reality (VR) video and augmented reality (AR) video will be showcased at SEMA Central, where Showgoers can view a series of automotive-themed experiential demonstrations and learn how the technology can be applied to all areas of automotive aftermarket product sales, marketing and development. Featuring live VR broadcasting, 360-degree video and fully immersive VR and AR experiences, the SEMA VR Experience will be a must-see feature located in SEMA Central. The menu of immersive virtual offerings will include the BFGoodrich Baja 1000 Experience, in which viewers can join Baja 1000 champion Rob MacCachren in the cockpit of an 850hp Trophy Truck, among others.

New Products Showcase

  Must-See Features
The New Products Showcase presents thousands of new-product offerings from all arenas of the automotive aftermarket and will be located in the Skybridge area.

Consistently rated as the number-one feature at the SEMA Show, the New Products Showcase includes more than 3,000 of the Show’s hottest products, organized by market segments and categories. While many Showgoers make it a point to visit the New Products Showcase before they even step foot on the Show floor, others take their time during the four-day event to examine the different categories of products that are on display. Covering a span of nearly 20,000 sq. ft., the New Products Showcase is located on the Skybridge between Central and South Halls. Advancements such as barcode scanners that capture product information make the Showcase one of the most efficient ways to explore innovations and connect with the businesses that develop them.

Improved Transportation Options

  Must-See Features
Getting to and from the Show has never been easier with newly expanded transportation options this year, including additional Monorail service hours and ride-sharing availability.

Ground transportation improvements make commuting to the Las Vegas Convention Center (LVCC) during the Show easier than ever. The Show will have two taxi stops—the east side of the Performance Pavilion and the Blue Lot on the east end of the Grand Lobby, adjacent to the Central Hall. As an alternative, the Las Vegas Monorail will offer extended hours of service during the Show, opening as early as 6:00 a.m. and running until 2:00 a.m.

SEMA is also partnering with ride-sharing services Uber and Lyft. Attendees will access these ride-sharing services from a designated drop-off and pick-up zone. Also available on all Show days, a free shuttle service runs every 20 minutes to and from select partner hotels.

Shuttles stop at three locations throughout the LVCC, and each hotel has a designated pick-up/drop-off location.

SCORE Baja 1000 Display

Must-See Features
The SCORE Baja 1000 outdoor display area is an opportunity for SEMA Show attendees to experience a host of events and activities while getting a unique, up-close look at Trophy Trucks and other display vehicles.

The SCORE Baja 1000 Experience will be the ultimate off-road and desert-racing exhibit for the 2016 SEMA Show, incorporating a host of displays and activities. The SCORE Baja area will house display rigs and exhibits as well as a stage in the back corner with a 20x20-ft. video wall. The zone will also be host to an array of display Trophy Trucks and other state-of-the-art off-road vehicles.

The Alley is an expansive outdoor area—separate from the OPTIMA booth—that features a collection of vehicles on display from the 2016 OPTIMA Street Car Invitational. The Alley remains one of the best locations at the Show to see vast range of vehicles in one space.

Expanded Performance Pavilion

Thousands of attendees at last year’s SEMA Show discovered new products, trends and ideas in the first-ever Performance Pavilion. The area located to the south of the LVCC will return in 2016 with improved features, making it possible for more manufacturers to participate and easy for buyers to navigate the annual trade show. The newly expanded Performance Pavilion is located directly adjacent to the LVCC and is available for all Show attendees to visit.
