Nominations Open for SEMA Hall of Fame

Nominations for the SEMA Hall of Fame—the most prestigious honor presented to an individual by the association—are now being accepted. The deadline to submit nominations is March 16, 2012.

Created in 1969, the SEMA Hall of Fame is designed to honor outstanding persons in the industry who have enhanced the stature of, or significantly contributed to, the industry and/or the association’s growth.

SEMA Scholarship Application Available Online, SEMA Hall of Fame Member Dick Van Cleve Passes Away

Students preparing for careers in the automotive industry may be eligible to receive financial awards ranging from $1,000–$4,000 through the 2012 SEMA Memorial Scholarship Fund (SMSF). Scholarship applications require college transcripts and letters of recommendation and are now available here.

Dick Van Cleve passed away on October 20, 2011, at the West Los Angeles Veteran’s Administration Hospital after a long illness. He had just celebrated his 80th birthday, surrounded by family, approximately two weeks prior.

Parker is also involved with SEMA, having served as the SEMA’s Young Executives Network chairman, SEMA Silent Auction Committee chairman, SEMA Pinewood Derby Committee chairman and as a member of the SEMA Cares and SEMA Scholarship Committee.
