Not all of SEMA’s work with the United States Congress takes place on Capitol Hill. Sometimes the best grassroots relationship-building occurs when SEMA members invite members of Congress and their staff to meet on the home turf.
SEMA members responded to a comprehensive survey conducted in early
2009 with a clear message that the nation’s health care system is
broken.
In its daily efforts to promote and protect the auto hobby, SEMA continues to partner with state lawmakers from across the country through the State Automotive Enthusiast Leadership Caucus.
You will find fans of the auto hobby and racing everywhere, even in the
hallowed halls of Congress.
Having an active and vocal presence in Washington, D.C., is vital to
protecting the livelihood of our industry.
The laws and regulations that govern how SEMA members do business have an increased and growing impact on the way automotive specialty-equipment products are made, distributed and marketed. SEMA has a proven legislative and regulatory program led by a fulltime professional staff based in Washington, D.C., that continually works on behalf of the membership.
Earlier this year, SEMA launched the largest grassroots effort in its
46-year history to prevent inclusion of a national “Cash for Clunkers”
program within the economic stimulus bill.
