A Look to the Future With SEMA Council Leaders
SEMA News annually turns to the leaders of the association’s councils and networks for the January issue to seek their views about how the industry is shaping up for the coming year. The chairs of each group provide responses based on what their organizations and companies are seeing within their marketplaces. Their responses provide helpful insights for businesses in every segment of the marketplace.
To gain the most from your trip to the SEMA Show, you must have a plan in place before hitting the floor. It’s important to be intentional about what you include in your agenda, and it’s never too early to start planning. Apart from doing business, many opportunities exist to connect with others in the industry and take the next step toward engagement in the association. Here are a few things that members will want to build into their schedules.

SEMA News annually turns to the leaders of the association’s councils and networks for the December issue to seek their views about how the industry is shaping up for the coming year. The chairs or chairs-elect of each group provide responses based on what their organizations and their companies are seeing within their marketplaces. Their responses provide helpful insights for businesses in every segment of the marketplace.
The following individuals were elected to seats on council Select Committees in the recent SEMA council elections. The new and re-elected incumbent Select Committee members will contribute significant time and effort during the next two years on projects and events to provide a benefit to SEMA-member companies.
The council awards call for nominations will go live starting the week
of July 23 and remain open through August 17, 2012. Please keep an eye
out for the “call for nominations” e-mail that will provide you with the
process, criteria and nomination information.
“How can I get the most out of my membership?” is a common question
asked by SEMA members. The answer is easy—get involved! Joining a
council and becoming active in their networking events, task forces,
educational programs and meetings are all steps in the right direction.

1. SEMA encourages members to post the SEMA logo on their company website and use it on company-related materials such as letterhead, catalogs, business cards and advertisements.
2. A SEMA member may not use the SEMA Logo to market a particular product, or affix the logo to a product or to product packaging.
3. The SEMA logo may never be used by a SEMA member as a "stand-alone"; the logo must clearly say "Member" directly beneath it.
4. The SEMA logo may not, under any circumstances, be distorted in its display; the logo must be vertically positioned as originally intended (not tweaked, turned upside down, etc.).
5. The SEMA logo may not be printed in any other color(s) than the original red, black and white scheme. If red is unattainable, then all black is permissible.
