Automotive Scholarship Applications Now Available [1]

Applications for automotive scholarships are now available through the 2012
SEMA Memorial Scholarship Fund (SMSF) at www.sema.org/scholarships [2].
Students preparing for careers in the auto or auto parts industries may be
eligible for cash awards ranging from $1,000-$4,000.

Hottest Car, Sport Compact Car, Truck and 4x4-SUV Announced at the 2011 SEMA Show [3]

The vehicles have been tallied and the exhibitors have spoken. The second annual SEMA Award was presented to the Chevrolet Camaro for the Hottest Car, the Fiat 500 for the Hottest Sport Compact Car, the Ford F-Series for the Hottest Truck and the Jeep Wrangler for the Hottest 4x4-SUV. The winners were announced this morning at the 2011 SEMA Show in Las Vegas.

SEMA Announces New Product Showcase Award Winners [4]

SEMA, the Specialty Equipment Market Association, today announced the winners of the New Products Showcase Awards held at the 2011 SEMA Show. The event recognizes the most cutting-edge automotive products either on the market or about to hit the market. This year, nearly 2,000 new products were submitted for consideration.

U.S. Department of Commerce Grants SEMA $500,000 to Support U.S. Specialty-Equipment Exporters [11]

The U.S. Department of Commerce named SEMA as one of the five recipients of the Market Development Cooperator Program (MDCP) for 2011. As a result, SEMA will receive $500,000 in matching funds over the next three years to support U.S. manufacturers that export automotive specialty-equipment products to booming emerging international markets. The grant is intended to stimulate U.S. exports of specialty-equipment products as part of the Administration's National Export Initiative, which aims to double U.S. exports by 2014 in support of several million U.S. jobs.
