The High School Vehicle Build Program provides students with and educational hands-on customization experience.
Through the Automotive Aftermarket Grant Program, SEMA will engage elementary school teachers and students across the nation in the automotive hobby, career pathing and lifestyle.
The middle school field trip program introduces students to the automotive customization hobby through STEM Education.
The 2019 program will emphasize issues that are of greatest concern to businesses in the automotive aftermarket.
SEMA will partner with Santa Fe ECO, along with four additional high schools in 2019 for a total of five vehicle builds.
In 1984, SEMA and a group of industry leaders teamed to establish the nonprofit SEMA Memorial Scholarship Fund, whose purpose was to nurture industry leadership by supporting the educational pursuits of future automotive professionals attending an accredited college. The fund initially struggled to gain momentum, but thanks to its first major donation of $10,000, contributed by industry pioneer and SEMA Hall of Fame inductee Joan Weiand of Weiand Automotive, the fund quickly picked up steam.
