More than 400 members of the automotive specialty-parts industry attended the annual SEMA Installation Banquet & Gala Fundraiser to honor SEMA Hall of Fame inductees George Barris, Eric Grant, Wade Kawasaki and Joe Schubeck, and raise money for the SEMA Cares charities.
How would you like to race your car at Pomona for only $95? No, it won't be on historic NHRA Raceway's quarter-mile; however, it will be on SEMA Cares' Pinewood Drag Races track where your generous donation will support various charities, including two that help children.
SEMA will host its annual Installation Banquet & Gala Fundraiser, Friday, July 26, at the Sheraton Fairplex Hotel & Conference Center in Pomona, California. The annual event is well attended by automotive professionals and serves as a swearing-in ceremony for the incoming Board of Directors, while honoring the newest SEMA Hall of Fame inductees.
Nothing says "Americana" like a good-old-fashioned pinewood drag race,
where the thrill of the build is matched only by the adrenaline rush of
the race. SEMA Cares has announced the 2013 Pinewood Drags, and it looks
to be bigger and better than ever.
WD-40 Co. and Chip Foose partnered again to build and auction a custom
charity vehicle, and their efforts paid off—to the tune of $170,000—to
help protect and care for children in need.
The Chip Foose/WD-40 ’53 F-100 was auctioned off at Barrett-Jackson last week for $170,000.
The WD-40/SEMA Cares Foose ’53 Ford F-100, which was unveiled at the
2012 SEMA Show, will be auctioned at the Barrett-Jackson Collector Car
Auction in Scottsdale, Arizona, Friday, January 18, at approximately 7:00 p.m.
Excitement continues to build around the two WD-40/SEMA Cares trucks that will be introduced at the 2012 SEMA Show.
After receiving their final touches in shops across Southern
California, the two trucks—the WD-40/SEMA Cares Foose ’53 Ford F-100 and
the WD-40 Specialist/SEMA Cares Foose Ford F-350—are finally complete
and headed to Las Vegas.
The final touches are being made on the WD-40/SEMA Cares Foose ’53 Ford
F-100 as Chip Foose and his team finish giving it the vintage shop truck
look it needs to wow attendees at this year’s SEMA Show and properly
pay tribute to the 60th anniversary of WD-40 Multi-Use Product.
