Automotive Restoration Market Organization (ARMO) - SEMA CouncilFor several years, the Automotive Restoration Market Organization (ARMO) has participated in the Hotrod & Restoration Trade Show in Indianapolis by presenting two education seminars on Saturday morning of the event. Owing to the success and growing attendance at these seminars, Travis Weeks, producer/publisher of Hotrod & Restoration, asked ARMO to “double up” and present four seminars.

SEMA Town Hall Meetings Will Return in 2012

SEMA Member Logo DownloadIn an ongoing effort to better connect with its members using face-to-face meetings, SEMA held four town hall meetings in 2011 in different parts of the country. These relaxed, informal gatherings allowed staff to hear from members about the challenges and opportunities facing their businesses and learn how SEMA can better serve them. Association staff and panelists consisting of key leaders from the SEMA Board of Directors, councils and committees shared valuable feedback with SEMA members. In 2011, SEMA held Town Hall Meetings in Arizona, Texas, North Carolina and Washington.

The Marx Group Names Craig Martinez Marketing Coordinator
The Marx Group hired Craig Martinez as the company's new marketing
coordinator. Martinez comes to The Marx Group having worked as public
relations coordinator for Full-Throttle Communications—a marketing,
public relations and advertising agency—and marketing coordinator at
AGIA Insurance Services—an insurance administrator in Southern
California. In his new role at The Marx Group, Martinez will assist the
company in the areas of marketing, public relations and social media.

Mopar Celebrates 75 Years With Four Modified Rides

To celebrate its 75th anniversary, Mopar recently revealed four custom vehicles that will be on display at the upcoming 2012 Chicago Auto Show, February 10–19. The customized models that will carry what Mopar refers to as its best-in-class parts and accessories include the Mopar '12 300, ’13 Dodge Dart 'GTS 210 Tribute,' the ’12 Fiat 500 'Stinger' and the ’12 Mopar Jeep Compass 'True North.'

Hawk Performance Hires Andrew Hisley as Director of Marketing
Hawk Performance Products Group, a division of Carlisle Brake and Friction, hired Andrew Hisley
as director of marketing. Hisley will coordinate global activities in
the performance market segment for aftermarket and OE customers. His
responsibilities include coordinating prices, analysis, product
rationalization, short- and long-term planning and strategic brand
management.

In January 1963, Tom McMullen posed in his flamed Deuce highboy for Hot Rod magazine’s Eric Rickman in front of Beckman Instruments, where McMullen worked as an electronics technician. The photos Rickman shot became the cover feature for Hot Rod’s April 1963 issue. This view of the car is an unpublished outtake, showing the rear of the ’32 and the pinstriping done by Ed “Big Daddy” Roth. Roth also laid out the car’s flames, which McMullen painted.
